Aha Moments: A Few Reflections on Wellness

As I mentioned in Parts One and Two of this series, I’ve partnered with Orenda International, a nutritional supplement company that’s on the leading edge of natural health. Meal Plan for the First Three Days
I love creating unique dishes. Although Orenda provides recipes for the Clean Burn Shape experience online, I encourage you to start experimenting on your own using plant-based recipes. Keep in mind, however, that you must adhere to a specific meal plan during the 10-day cleanse. The following Lifestyle 120 recipes will help take the guesswork out of your first three days.
Lightly steam 2 large portobello mushrooms, 4 large green onions, 1 large zucchini; ½ c cooked lentils; 2 c water or fresh veggie stock; pepper, sage, thyme, cumin, coriander to taste. Cool the veggies then blend all ingredients to a smooth perfection. Prepare in advance and enjoy 1 single serving a day for 3 days.
Mixed greens (spinach, cabbage/kale blend, mache rosettes), fresh basil; chopped carrots; 1 orange, sliced; ½ c black beans; dressing (1T lime juice, 1T apple cider vinegar, 1t olive oil, pinch sea salt, pepper, turmeric to taste). Toss up each morning. Make enough for 2 single servings per day and enjoy twice during the day.
2 cucumbers, chopped; pint of cherry tomatoes, sliced in half if desired; ½ red onion, chopped; 1T lemon juice, 1T apple cider vinegar, 1t olive oil, pinch sea salt, ½t pepper, 1t oregano. Prepare in advance and enjoy 1 single serving a day for 3 days.
1 c Great Northern beans; 1 large red bell pepper, chopped; 3 large green onions, chopped; 1½ to 2 c parsley, chopped; pinch salt; pepper, sage, dill to taste; 1t olive oil, 1T apple cider vinegar, 1T lime juice. Prepare in advance and enjoy 1 single serving per day for 3-4 days.
Let’s Get Personal
Although I follow a healthy lifestyle and my weight is in the healthy range, I expected to see results from my ten-day discovery mission. I got mentally psyched up for the challenge, but wasn’t sure if I could last the entire ten days. And then…
By the end of the first day, I was like, “Dang! This is simple and easy and there’s more food than I usually consume.” I remained full and satisfied the entire day and went to bed calm and relaxed. Sweet dreams! By day four, my appetite was so suppressed that I eliminated the a.m. snack! By day nine, the end was in sight, and I was feeling great!
