Every season offers an opportunity to release the old and welcome the new.  Are you preparing for a fresh, new start?  Fall is a great time to rekindle your passions and reimagine those dreams and important projects that you’ve put on hold.  Perhaps this weekend will be the perfect time to create an action plan!

 Position yourself for abundance!

Rest and relaxation are essential to a healthy lifestyle.  Getting the proper rest can also help you be more receptive to the bountiful opportunities coming your way.

Sack Time:  Bed 'N Lunch

Allow the sweetness of slumber to detox your body and cleanse your soul.

Are you getting enough sleep?  Hit the sack at a reasonable hour to reap the benefits of a good night’s sleep.

Sleep is critical to our health and well-being.  But many people don’t get enough of it.  Sleep and relaxation support the immune system.  Each person may require more or less than the recommended seven to eight hours.  If you’re getting less than you require, you may be sleep deprived, and that can lead to serious health problems like heart disease and depression, as well as forgetfulness and irritability.

Signs you may be sleep deprived:

• Weight gain

• Mood changes

• Foggy thinking

• Decreased productivity

• Weakened immune system

• Changes in facial appearance

“Sleep is that golden chain that ties health and our bodies together.”—Thomas Dekker

Unplug before bedtime.  Technology impacts sleep quality, so turn off tech devices one to two hours before retiring.  Spend that time reflecting on your daily accomplishments and expressing gratitude for your blessings.  Your body will thank you!

“Sleep is the best meditation.”—Dalai Lama

“To sit in the shade is the most perfect refreshment.”—Jane Austen

How do you spend your lunch hour?  Take your lunch sack outdoors and dine in the park.  Ogle the gorgeous fall colors, breathe in the fresh air and revitalize your spirit.  Schedule mindful breaks throughout the day.  Nature provides numerous health benefits.  Taking a stroll or sitting on a park bench serves as a complimentary therapy session offered by the great outdoors.  Take a deep breath and marvel at the sights and sounds being projected on nature’s movie screen.  What a wonderful way to detox your mind and recharge your battery.

“Silence is the sleep that nourishes wisdom.”—Francis Bacon

Nutritious Nuggets

Eating with the Seasons

Apples are especially popular this time of year.  But for variety, mix things up a bit with fresh figs.  Fresh fig season runs from August through October.  There’s not much time left, so stock up and savor this sweet, luscious treat.  Rich in vitamins and minerals, figs are a good source of potassium and dietary fiber.

Enjoy figs plain or spice up your weekend with a luscious dessert, Figgy Maple Pudding.  Get recipe here

A detox can unlock mental blocks.

Last week, I published a series on my experience with Orenda International’s Clean Burn Shape ten-day cleanse.  Transitioning to the new season is the perfect time to rededicate yourself to health goals.  Do you like simplicity?  Orenda’s complete detoxification and weight-loss program may be the ideal option for you.  See links to the ten-day cleanse series below.

I always stress the importance of a healthy lifestyle, which includes fresh, whole foods and physical activity.  Supplementation is also important for removing toxins, boosting immunity, and supporting overall health and well-being.  Clean Burn Shape is just one of Orenda’s brands.  The other is Orenda Ultimate, the unique supplemental blends that support your health.  For more information on Orenda’s products, click here or send me a message.  I’d love to share more benefits with you!

It can be challenging to create and activate a personal healthy-living plan alone.  As your holistic health and wellness coach, I am ready to support you on your wellness journey.  Schedule a complementary breakthrough session with me this week.  Click here to schedule an appointment.

I am having tons of fun teaching Ageless Grace, a fitness program for the body and brain, to a lively group at the Naperville Park District every Thursday.  Do you live in the area and want to sign up for the class? Find out more here.

Consider This

“Passion precedes prosperity.”—Andrew Hildreth

True prosperity is more than the padded bank account.  It’s the continuous flow of blessings in your life.  It’s abundance consciousness.  It’s thriving and flourishing.  It’s living a grateful, passionate, whole, healthy and balanced life.

“Very little effort is needed to create a prosperous life.  Focus on positivity, prosperity, and love.”—Debasish Mridha
