How Can Tipping For Weekly Chores Add Up To A Sizeable Saving Strategy?

Have you tried a variety of saving strategies — and are now at a tipping point?

I’ve posted several articles on unique methods to save money and fund your life purpose. Today, let’s explore a creative way for you to “earn” an extra $100 a week.

When you generously tip a server in a restaurant for excellent service, how do you think your gesture of appreciation makes him or her feel? I’m sure your gratuity not only lifts your waiter’s mood, but also makes you feel great, right?

Think about how your savings, chores, and purpose can feed your personal power and make you feel great.

“The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.” — Henry David Thoreau

Your Personal Tipping Strategy
First, make a list of weekly chores that will be easy to keep track of, such as, meal planning, laundry, cleaning, window washing, and so on. Establish a set tip amount for services rendered and contribute that “bonus” to your stash. If you prepare three meals each day, five days a week, tip yourself $10 a day. That’s $50 a week just for prepping grub. If you do laundry every Thursday evening, tip yourself $10 for folding the sheets and towels in a professional manner. You’re already up to $60 — only $40 more to go…

Did you notice a mental shift? Because you will be earning tips for doing household duties, I bet you’ll be more thorough and conscientious while performing each task. For instance, let’s say you water your indoor plants once a week. Instead of just mindlessly dumping water on your philodendrons, take time to thank and caress them for gracing your space. Measure the right amount of water and nutrients they may need that week, and tell them how gorgeous they look. Your plants will love you back by growing more brilliantly, while you tip yourself for being a great “server.” Now that’s a symbiotic relationship you can direct deposit into your pot.

When you tip yourself well, you’re demonstrating compassion, discipline, patience, courage and positivity.
What will you do with the money you save? Saving $100 a week from your household tips adds up to a whopping $5,200 a year. Yow! You can invest in your business, earn an advanced certificate, travel, donate to your favorite philanthropic organizations, pay off credit cards, contribute to your grandchild’s college fund, and more.
