Lights Out! Time For Bed!

Are you getting your required hours of restorative sleep?  If you want to rock 2021, it’s imperative that you get your rest to be your best. You can’t transform your life feeling foggy and worn out.

Sleep is essential to our overall health and well-being.  Ongoing sleep deprivation has been linked to increased risks of health issues like heart disease, high blood pressure and more.

Periodically, I will be offering good habits to sleep by, but today I’d like to suggest one tip to improve your chances of sleeping soundly through the night and waking up in the morning feeling refreshed.

Establish a regular sleep schedule!  

This recommendation may require that you adjust the activities in your entire day, but the benefits will be worth it.  Let’s say you need eight hours of shut-eye to be your best.  Decide what time you intend to rise and what time you’re going to retire, and try not to deviate from your plan.  Perhaps you’ll need to set the alarm for the first week or so to give your body time to adjust.  

When I adhere to a strict sleep schedule, I am more alert and productive during the day.  I need eight hours and try to stick to a sack time of 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

How many hours of Zzzs do you require?  Maintaining a consistent bedtime regimen will help you get the rest you need, in order to lead the life of your dreams.

Consider This  
You may want to keep a two-week sleep journal on the changes you notice while surrendering to sweet slumber.  Have there been any positive changes in your mood?  Attention span?  Energy?  Appetite?

• Set a loving intention to establish a regular sleep routine that works for you.
• Begin by determining the number of hours you need to feel your best and adhere to that schedule.
• Consider how establishing a sleep schedule will improve your overall health and bring balance to your life.
• Close your eyes and visualize how this lifestyle change can prepare you for your amazing second half.
